70% have not used skills future credit expiring on 31 Dec 2025

Have you used?

I probably won't use because the credit only partially offset the course fee. Rest you still have to pay for in cash. $1000 course you may be able to offset only $300 rest $700 you need to pay for it

Nowadays many online courses only $100 or less. I think they are much better that those offered under skills future.

If fresh or young grads, can use on the 100 courses anyhow

But experience workers, only have a certain skills gap

Worst is mature/ elderly workers, already know everything but no jobs available

Hope they will extend the expiry date for another 2 years.
And more importantly churn out more relevant courses to motivate citizens to attend.

Many cannot afford the time as work schedule does not allowed.
Apart a few, most courses does not meet Employers must have list.
longer courses may not meet employers objectives if company are human shortage

Some courses job opportunities disrupted by AI, eg data analysis which was hot years ago.

Wonder where they take the money from

But YES! The main aim of the scheme is to drive the Economy

We are just pawns in their game

Obviously to churn the economy is one key intent of skill future. If you dig deeper into those major companies that provide the training, you will realized they are government linked...

The money goes back to the gov but you have to pay the fee difference out of pocket. So who gains?
