73-year-old hawker shuts stall due to rent hike, seeks job at Marina Bay Sands job fair
A veteran hawker couple has closed their long-running stall at Bukit Merah Central due to rising rental costs. Ang Xinrong, 76, recently sought employment at the Marina Bay Sands job fair. He told Lianhe Zaobao that frequent rent hikes pushed their monthly expenses beyond S$5,000, forcing them to retire from their business in January.

Why this hawker don't like others increase the food price pass the rental cost to customers ? 40 over yrs in business no saving to survive ?
