Flight BA31, which was flying from London to Hong Kong, had already flown for more than four hours when the pilot decided to return to London's Heathrow Airport, where it had taken off earlier in the evening. According to data from the air tracking website FlightRadar24 , the 23-year-old Boeing was flying at 35,000 feet, or more than 10,000 m, over Turkmenistan when it turned back.
