A monitor lizard turned up at a Punggol resident's 11th floor home on Thursday, climbing in through the gate and exploring the living room before the family trapped it on the balcony.

It was eventually taken away by NParks officers.

I recall reading about that disgusting incident 2 years ago when 4 men gang-raped and killed a monitor lizard in a wildlife reserve in India. It is not only illegal, but extremely cruel. I wonder what prevented that lizard from clamping its sharp teeth into the men's sexual organ?

Always on the ground level, time for some high-rise  view.

Monitor lizards routinely scale gates, fences and walls of landed properties in Malaysia

They prey on small animals, and saliva is very poisonous. Dun go near as they can run quite fast, can give you a fatal bite

Why did the monitor lizard not bite off the men's organ?

Komodo dragon is actually a type of monitor lizards, found mainly in Indonesia komodo island and nearby island.

Those that sometimes appear in residential areas are much smaller but their saliva/venom are aso poisonous
