Yep, walking is very good. I have knee pain and can't jog more than a few metres but walking has kept me healthy.

It may sound counter intuitive, but people often get knee pain because their butt muscles can't support a stable stride which adds strain to the knees.

To strengthen your butt muscles, do this exercise regularly.

Ran too much in the past. Now is wear and tear. Not just knees but other parts of the body are aging as well. That's life.

Are you sure it is due to running in the past and no due to other problems like high uric acid leading to arthritis? Sometimes going on a diet with less purine might help after a year......  Rolleyes
