The impact of the PAP system of governance on the lives of people in Singapore can be significant. Here are some examples:
1. _Limited freedom of expression_: The restrictions on freedom of speech and censorship can make it difficult for people to express their opinions and ideas, which can stifle creativity and innovation. For instance, the _Internal Security Act_ allows the government to detain individuals without trial, which can lead to _self-censorship_ and a _fear of speaking out_.
2. _Conformity and groupthink_: The emphasis on conformity and groupthink can lead to a lack of diversity in thought and opinion, which can result in a _lack of innovation_ and _stagnation_. This can be seen in the way that _alternative viewpoints_ are often _dismissed or marginalized_, and how _dissenting voices_ are _discouraged_.
3. _Elitism and social mobility_: The elitist system can make it difficult for people from lower-income backgrounds to access education and job opportunities, which can limit social mobility. For example, the _meritocratic_ system can favor those who have _access to better education_ and _networks_, making it harder for those who are _disadvantaged_ to _catch up_.
4. _Inequality and poverty_: The widening income gap and lack of social safety nets can lead to poverty and inequality, which can have a significant impact on people's lives. According to the _Singapore Department of Statistics_, the _Gini coefficient_ has been increasing over the years, indicating a _widening income gap_.
5. _Limited access to healthcare_: The lack of universal healthcare and high costs of medical treatment can make it difficult for people to access healthcare, which can have serious consequences for their health and wellbeing. For instance, the _Medisave_ scheme requires individuals to _save a portion of their income_ for healthcare, which can be _inadequate_ for those who are _low-income_ or _unemployed_.
6. _Housing and cost of living_: The high cost of living and housing can make it difficult for people to afford basic necessities, which can lead to stress and anxiety. The _Housing and Development Board_ (HDB) provides _subsidized housing_, but the _waiting time_ can be _long_, and the _prices_ can be _unaffordable_ for some.
7. _Education and career opportunities_: The emphasis on academic achievement and limited job opportunities can lead to stress and pressure on students and workers, which can affect their mental health and wellbeing. The _education system_ is highly _competitive_, and the _job market_ can be _tough_, with _long working hours_ and _high expectations_.
8. _Mental health_: The combination of these factors can lead to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and stress, which can have a significant impact on people's lives. According to the _Singapore Mental Health Study_, the _prevalence of mental health disorders_ has been increasing over the years, with _1 in 5_ individuals experiencing a _mental health disorder_ in their lifetime.
Some personal stories that illustrate the impact of the PAP system on people's lives include:
- A _single mother_ who struggles to make ends meet due to the high cost of living and limited access to social services.
- A _young person_ who feels pressured to conform to societal expectations and pursue a traditional career path, rather than following their passion.
- A _low-income worker_ who struggles to access healthcare due to the high costs of medical treatment and limited social safety nets.
- A _retiree_ who struggles to make ends meet due to the lack of universal healthcare and limited pension benefits.
These stories highlight the need for a more _compassionate_ and _inclusive_ system that prioritizes the wellbeing of all citizens, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. The PAP system's emphasis on _economic growth_ and _stability_ has come at the cost of _social welfare_ and _individual freedom_, and it is essential to strike a better balance between these competing priorities.

We are warned of this system. We see the evidence of deterioration. Yet we go ahead and choose the system because of a few sweeteners.
We are foolish to do that.

I thought these are universal problems not just of sg and china.
Do you hv any workable suggestions? If you look around yr estate, are you not happy that it’s quite well managed with a rather low monthly maintenance fee? You’re already very fortunate compared to the millions of homeless

1. Every country has its inique set of problems. Talking across countries confuse the issue. For example in US healthcare recenttly there alot of talk of knsurance companies denyjng claim causing people to be bankrupted. Thjs problem is different from Taiwan and Singapore.
2. Problems have to recognised first before they are solved. For example it js typical of the PAP to say problem does not exist or do not matter. For example, when our GINI coefficient become.highest in the world...the PAP said no problem..
3. If have posted various suggestions and solutions to solve the problems. So have many Opposition MPs.

PAP is too 自大 and OUT- of- touch
They tell us to conquer the world that is 99.5% outside
When we conquer, they refused to help and support ie Creative
All their 放屁 applies to them only by using our CPF monies
Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

Change is the only constant.
Pap needs to change or be changed.
