Earlier in the day, sources said that two people had died and three people suffered injuries as a result of a military helicopter crash in India.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called an emergency Cabinet meeting after a Mi-17V5 military helicopter that was carrying senior defence officers crashed at Coonoor in Tamil Nadu.

A total of 14 people, including Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his spouse, his wife, security commandos and IAF pilots, are said to have been on board the chopper.
