All home-stay quarantine in Singapore must wear "Ankle Tracker" for 14 days.
#1

"a joint press release by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority, Ministry of Manpower, and Ministry of Education, travellers entering Singapore who are serving their stay-home notice outside of dedicated facilities will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device throughout the 14 days from 10 August.

This will apply to all travellers, including Singaporeans, PRs, long-term pass holders, work pass holders, and their dependents.

During the 14-day period, those wearing the devices may receive notifications on them, and any attempt to leave the place of residence or tamper with the device will trigger an alert to the authorities. The devices use GPS and 4G or Bluetooth signals, but will not store any personal data and do not have any voice/video recording functions."

Singapore ICA, MoM and MoE were very innovative to treat sick patients like prisoners.

Ankle trackers were extensively used during slavery trade in Europe and today, still in practice.

WTF

It's just harnessing technology.  No need to whine just because it is now being used to fight a war against the virus that is fighting a guerilla warfare against humanity.

You want to talk about ancient times...yes, in the past people used long knives called swords and sabres to slaughter their enemy, but today, a chef uses a knife to cut your steak to cook it medium rare for you to chomp.

In some countries, the death sentence is lethal injection.  Here, the doctor pokes your arse with medicine when you are sick.  So is injection barbaric?

So, my message to you is: don't be so narrow minded.  The tracker is using technology for a good cause.

Fake News. I know they all need to wear shoes to go out but not "ankle tracker" as mentioned by TS. I also know they need to have some wearable to track where they are such as Wristband and gateway devices. This is good for the safety of all of us.

Sinkies who "got house here and there" should in all probabilities be new citizens who spend a good amount of time in their land of birth every year where they still have relatives by the tens of dozens back there...for eg ex-Indians and ex-Chinese, and even ex-Malaysians.

In the early days of the pandemic back in 2020, I believe some of them were born here raised here Singaporeans.  But if we still have Singaporeans returning now, I doubt they are those.  They should be ex-Indians, ex-Chinese, ex-Malaysians or even ex-Viets.......all new citizens.

If ankle trackers were continuously used effectively, there will be fewer people being charged today for breaching stay-home quarantine orders.

It shows that too much changes made people  confused.
