"Alleged victim in domestic slave case diagnosed with terminal illness

19 June 2023
A woman allegedly held as a domestic slave in a Point Cook home has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and prosecutors now aim to have the case fast-tracked to the Supreme Court.

Angie Yeh Ling Liaw, 29, and Chee Kit Chong, 44 – also known as Max Chong – are charged with slavery-related offences and faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday, when it was revealed the prosecution’s “critical witness”, the complainant, had recently been given a terminal diagnosis."
