The current shorter cycles between economic growth and downturn mean that employment opportunities are limited for fresh graduates with fewer white collar jobs opening up to replace those of retiring employees. To compound matters, more companies are blaming ongoing business restructuring and softer economic conditions as the main reasons for laying-off workers. In SG, the problem is the continued almost uncontrolled influx of foreign PMEs. How on earth are locals going to return to the workforce unless they opt for underemployment or self-employment?

Actually, the Australians are not supportive of SingTel taking over in the last 7 years and many withdrew. The staff cut should have been 600.

Angmo all racist one. Last time when temasek wanted to take over Micropolis, many researchers said they would resign as they did not like to work under the Asian boss. Eventually,  within one year, Micropolis collapse and Temasek lost $600 millions.
