Novavax holds huge technological advantage over the current mRNA vaccines
#1
Information

Novavax's vaccines are expected to cause less adverse and less severe reaction compared to both the mRNA vaccines and the J&J vaccine.

Additionally, Novavax vaccine might prove to be a better option for children because of NVX-COV2373's higher safety profile.

They only require storage temperatures of 2° to 8°, which makes the logistics of shipping NVX-CoV2373 to warm weather climates a far easier task.

Maybe less protein spike being attach to cell.

SARS-CoV-2 Spike Impairs DNA Damage Repair and Inhibits V ...

Mechanistically, we found that the spike protein localizes in the nucleus and inhibits DNA damage repair by impeding key DNA repair protein BRCA1 and 53BP1 recruitment to the damage site.

mRNA create only spikes and many fold more.

While Valneva takes the whole virus, Novavax takes a slice(sub-units) of the virus.

The Novavax vaccine uses a telltale piece of the coronavirus: the notorious spike protein.

"Unlike mRNA vaccines, the spike protein is already premade in the Novavax vaccine. It's a shortcut," explains Dr. Florescu. "All the synthesis happens outside the body and we just give the end product: the spike protein."

Like other COVID-19 vaccines, Novavax does not cause COVID-19 infection. It can't get you sick.

Researchers select the desired genes that create certain SARS-CoV-2 antigens (spike protein).

Researchers put the genes into a baculovirus, an insect virus.
The baculovirus infects moth cells and replicates inside them.
These moth cells create lots of spike proteins.
Researchers extract and purify the spike proteins.
