Amid some public confusion, LTA reiterates car owners can install ERP 2.0 processing unit on driver's side if feasible

LTA's clarification comes after several motorists expressed their frustration about the new on-board unit, with many stating that the placement of the processing unit at the front passenger's footwell was inconvenient and hard to reach.

that unit is not necessary as payment transactions can be done back end real time.
lta own packing apps does that. why erp cannot? the manufacturer of the erp unit benefits most.
if gov pay the hardware it is a mis use of public fund. what was the motivation behind it???
need to check need to check

Aliyah just issue each driver a driver webbing to wear where the unit can be housed and secured. No more excuses then.

When the design was first announced in 2020, some motorists complained that the new unit would be too bulky and inelegant. Having taken in the feedback, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Monday (Oct 23) noted that motorists can opt out of installing the touchscreen display.
Design from Khaw Boon Wan time.

not all technology improvement is necessary better.
See if the new minister got any solution.
