"So, what we have done here really is to encourage residents... to reduce the number of disposable carrier bags that they use in order to do their part for the environment," she said.

Instead of disposable carrier bags, there are other ways to bag rubbish, said Dr Khor. For instance, repurposing packaging from other products, such as toilet roll bags and rice bags.

Amy Khor really spout ridiculous ideas.  Your family need to pangsai how many times a day in order to use up the toilet rolls plastic bag in time to use it?

Same as if meat is expensive go buy fish instead.

These politicians or ex politicians (soon to be ex-Pres) are not realistic.  Or just feel the need to talk kork?

What she is trying to say is dont throw too much rubbish. Throw away your rubbish once a week and save on plastic bags.

Toilet roll bags are not completely sealed, if put food trash it can leak.

Rice bags are thick but opening very small and difficult to stretch, need a special tall and small diameter trash bin that suitable to fit in but most commercial trash bins are fat and short.

These ministers must really go and analyse properly before saying things like that.

They have not found a practical solution to  replace plastic bags for trash,  yet they so audaciously rush to charge the public.

Certainly they have not thought through thoroughly this vital project which involves every family. A poor planner indeed.

She is really making a fool of herself with her untenable suggestion. Better if she keeps mum.

She should offer to issue recycle grocery bags to the blue CHAS group of people. If those people do not want, that is OK.

now people use the plastic bags to bag up to bring to the plastic bin below void deck
why? the fumes for the cockroaches went into their abodes kitchens. Poisoning the occupants.
They taped up. Now the cockroaches are everywhere no food to eat.
They r found even in their bed rooms.
Without bags situation worst
Calling for help also no use they say bins ok
but fumes and cockroaches seep thr.

That the Difference come RICH lifestyle vs Middle income down to poor ones.

The Rich stay landed house, surrounding is always quiet hardly any car pass by. Unlike HDB neighbourhood, noisy with cars vroom around etc.
Houseworks , daily needs purchasing etc All maid doing. Owner just use mouth give instruction.

The best is Ultra rich one, got Houseman as supervisor to look after , instruct the maids like oversee for you.

if we cant get plastic bags from supermarkets, we still end up buying new plastic bags for our rubbish bin back home.

Its still environmental unfriendly
