When Anwar Is ONLY, one compromise away from finally to lead Malaysia. While opposition leader sees Anwar path to PM as foes ploted to deny him the Malaysia PM job.

So come entry BN emerges as a kingmaker after its historic polls defeat. So on Nov. 20. Anwar’s coalition won 82 parliamentary seats in Saturday’s election, went on to won the biggest haul compared to others blocs. While short of majority needed to form a govt, it puts him in prime position to forge an alliance to do so.

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 — Several analysts said Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) led by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad should be disbanded after its abysmal showing in the 15th general election. It failed to make the most of their racial narrative, losing all 125 parliament seats it contested.

Both Pejuang and GTA’s 15th general election defeats were not a shock, they were expected. What was quite surprising was the scale of the defeat.

Both Pejuang and GTA should just wind up. Theyare toothless without Tun Dr Mahathir. Universiti Sains Malaysia political said.

Many of malaysia problems are long term and structural

There is little the govt can do to improve things much in the short term..

The big problem is corruption. Already Anwar made a gimmick move not to take salary. The message should be strong that he will ensure officials are paid well to eliminate corruption.

Every country that has  endemic corruption have low paid leaders and civil service.

Every one should be paid to do their job and take responsibility. If there are poor people in the country there should be good effort to improve the lives of these people over the long term by bringing investments and through education.

The issue of high salary for leaders is not an issue except for some minority of the people in Singapore. For me the higher they are paid the better because it allows me to demand high performance and standards.

I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

He said that his proclamation was not merely a “campaign slogan” and promised that concrete action would be taken regarding the matter. We will not compromise on ensuring and recognising the rights, citizenship, and opportunities of every race, religion and region in this country,” he said during a press conference at the Sungai Long Golf and Country Club.

“No Malaysian should be left to feel that they are ignored in any way, none should be marginalised under my administration,” he added, as the audience here burst into applause

As chairman of the 260th meeting of the Conference of Rulers. Yesterday, Tuanku Muhriz proposed the removal of the prime minister’s role in appointing members of the JAC, a panel which nominates prospective new judges.

He had stressed on the importance of keeping enforcement agencies and the judiciary independent and free from external influence.

Especially to Newly Malaysia PM and on the Old Fox, Old man...🐏 / Black_sheep Dr M. Rotfl

The Malaysian Bar said it had submitted more than 60 working papers to “initiate progress in working towards a matured and truly democratic nation”, among them a paper advocating the review of the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2009.

The body also advocated a more inclusive JAC, one that reflect the country's diversity. “Means inclusion of  wide spectrum of Malaysia’s rich multicultural and multireligious population, to reflection good balance of the genders and professional practice areas,”

Noted JAC has nine members, four of whom are the most senior judges in Malaysia, while the remaining five are appointed by prime minister. The Malaysian Bar had warned that selection of eminent persons leaves open the possibility that former members of the executive anwhich could lead to political interference.d public service, members of Parliament and other politicians may sit on the JAC,

The Malaysian Bar reiterates yet again that the powers of the PM in the judicial selection and appointment process under the JAC Act be removed, so as to ensure independence of the JAC to run its own affairs, and that a Parliamentary Select Committee on key matters be possibly involved to provide check and balance.

“These reforms would be necessary to uphold the independence of the Judiciary,” Cheah said.
