This unexploded 100 kg bomb unearthed on 20 Sep 2023 in Bukit Timah is one of countless aerial bombs indiscriminately dropped by the Japanese bombers on Singapore before invading in Feb 1942....For those who prefer to forget or ignore...

Made-in-Japan and exported to Singapore.

I doubt the BDU will dismantle it. Most likely they will just blow it up with explosive. So no shell left.    Big Grin

Seem like they need to do the same like last time

" In 2019, a 50kg aerial bomb was found in River Valley, also during excavation works at a construction site. It was similarly assessed to be unsafe to move and had to be disposed of on-site. "

Very quachang lah. Wont explode one lah and even if it explode, it wont be so destructible that you need to evacuate 200 m radius lah. It will only be a tiny pooh if it really occur.

It isn't the blast they worry - it is the fragments Old bombs already has fuse and ready to boooom....No one can wanna take chance moving too much.

So better GENTLY move it an open nearby field (usually construction site), dig a deep deep hole and cover it with many many sandbags.

Of course, the most siong part is filling the bags and pilling up...the most exhilarating part is setting up the charges and setting it off... Tongue

These recovered aerial bombs were once carry by Mitsubishi G3M Nell bombers.

On 7 Dec 1941, the same day when Pearl Harbor was attacked, over 30 of those heavily loaded G3M took off from Vietnam on 1st mission to bomb SG...in the start Jap next move down the Malaya peninsular. Both Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse were later sank by air attacks during that same month.

China ccp are more familiar. Govt can invite 1000 ccp people and wrap around the Bomb and try to feel the power. If survive then each give $80 and free china airline business class back Fujian.
