Time line of the oil spill
#1

1. 14 Jun 2.20pm collision at PSA terminal ( critical and crucial golden hour to arrest the spill from spreading)
2. 15 Jun report closing of beaches and oil slick sighted at southern islands ( not sure why take one day to report the oil spill) and sentosa residents complain about the smell and feelings uncomfortable
3. 16 Jun request of volunteers and start clearing the oil spill
4. 17 jun extension of boom in other part of the main land

Meta AI: To put 400 metric tons into perspective, here are some examples of how much that is:

- Equivalent to the weight of about 100 small cars (assuming 4,000 pounds/1,800 kg per car)
- Equal to the weight of about 20 large elephants (assuming 20,000 pounds/9,000 kg per elephant)
- Enough oil to fill about 25 Olympic-sized swimming pools (assuming 50 meters x 25 meters x 2 meters deep)
- Equivalent to about 120,000 gallons of oil (assuming 3.4 barrels per ton)
- Enough energy to power about 1,200 average US homes for a year (assuming 300 gallons per home per year)

Keep in mind that these are rough estimates and the actual volume or weight of 400 metric tons can vary depending on the specific substance or material.

Meta AI: A 400 metric tonne leak of vessel fuel is a significant amount, equivalent to:

- About 120,000 gallons (US) or 450,000 liters
- Enough fuel to fill about 200-250 tanker trucks
- A spill area of approximately 12-15 acres (4.9-6.1 hectares) with a thickness of 1 inch (2.5 cm)
- A slick visible from space, covering about 4-6 square miles (10-16 square kilometers)

To put it into perspective:

- The Exxon Valdez spill in 1989 was approximately 11 million gallons (41,600 metric tons). So, 400 metric tons is about 1/100th of that amount.
- The average US oil spill response Threshold is 10,000 gallons (37.85 metric tons). So, 400 metric tons is about 10-12 times that amount.

Keep in mind that the impact of a spill depends on various factors, including location, weather, and response time.
