🥹 This kingfisher was covered in oil when it was found in the Marina Keppel Bay area. A Good Samaritan brought it to Acres where it is being cared for & cleaned.

Failure of these people, MPA, PSA and MOT, yet still got the cheek to call for volunteer.

Heads of these organizations no need to account for their lapse on why they failed to contain the oil from spreading? They don’t know many have Netflix, discovery, National Geographic and BBC?

If late LkY still around sure overturn the table. Worst is these ppl recieving higher pay but not knowing how to prevent and solve problem.
When food getty expensive they asked you to eat Nasi lemak or Fried Mee hoon cos is much cheaper.
When asked abt welfare they asked how much do you need for 3 meals?
Now they are desperate to solve problem ,they ask for volunteers....🤔🤦

The weak Govt ability to handle this damage recovery infuriates me! Why allow the ship to dock in the first place when it malfunctions just because they are greedy for money.

What sort oil are those oil tanker ship using?

Meta AI: The majority of ocean-going vessels, including oil tankers, used high sulfur fuel oil (HSFO) for bunkering until January 1st, 2020 ¹. However, with the aim of decarbonizing the shipping industry, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has implemented the IMO sulphur cap regulation, which mandates vessels to use low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) in place of HSFO. LSFO has a sulphur limit of 0.5%, compared to 3.5% in HSFO ¹.

If a leak of low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) or high sulphur fuel oil (HSFO) occurs, the following health hazards may be present ¹ ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ ⁶:

- Burns: skin contact with the fuel oil can cause burns
- Pulmonary edema: inhalation of the fuel oil vapor can cause pulmonary edema
- Cardiac arrhythmias: exposure to the fuel oil can cause cardiac arrhythmias
- Electrolyte imbalance: exposure to the fuel oil can cause an electrolyte imbalance
- Respiratory problems: inhalation of the fuel oil vapor can cause respiratory problems
- Eye and skin irritation: exposure to the fuel oil can cause eye and skin irritation
- Headaches and dizziness: inhalation of the fuel oil vapor can cause headaches and dizziness
- Nausea and vomiting: exposure to the fuel oil can cause nausea and vomiting

It is important to note that the extent of the health hazards caused by a leak of LSFO or HSFO depends on various factors, including the amount and duration of exposure, individual sensitivity, and the level of personal protective equipment (PPE) used. If a leak occurs, it is important to evacuate the area immediately, shut off the source of the leak (if possible), and seek medical attention if exposure
 has occurred.

The Ministers and their families must lead by example. Volunteer if no training or protective gear is needed for the task. Offer to insure volunteers who risk their health and perhaps even their lives for this endeavour if you have the welfare of volunteers at heart.
