Please spend some time to read this article published 2 months before the Hamas attack.
The right wing Netanyahu govt constant provocations of Palestinians is to escalate tensions to an all out war.
They were pushing the other side towards a war.
For more than 40yrs various govts and coalitions in Israel would de escalate whenever tension rises . This changed early this year when the right wing took over the govt.
Their goal all along is war so that they can avenge past.
So as a strategy they will escalate the conflict to the point of war.

Israel cant have an all-out war if Hamas is not able to put together and execute this mass assault and if its Iron Dome is infallible
There will not be an all out war if the other side is not able to put up a good struggle

There are 2million in Gaza and Hamas is weaved jnto the population.
Israel can do what it likes however it creates a problem for us as it will fuel Muslim extremism world wide.
We leave a right wing Israeli govt that taps on the anger of the Israeli people in its actions against Hamas with Gazains as collateral damage....it is not good for us.

Sgbutt can get your facts right? Netanyahu has been PM for dunno how many donkey years, though there was a short period where there was a new PM. But the period was very very very short.
Netanyahu always wanted to get rid of the Palestinians but he couldn't get the support of the US in the past. Trump emboldened him. Trump is the problem.

The left and political enemies tried to have him removed with various lawsuits like corruption charges ....

With every cause there's an effect. Israel may look like they are winning the assault but in reality it will trigger some disastrous consequences in the future, though we are unlikely to live to see them. The long-term solution is still to avoid provoking the Palestinians and giving them some rights. Israel has been doing the opposite these years.
