How come AU death rates so much lower than SG....we still average 2-3 deaths per day, which translates by Australia pop. size to 10-15 deaths, but they hardly >5 daily deaths....Is SG healthcare quality so much lower?

Unlike us, we have opened our borders since past two years, Australia has closed borders for the past 18 months, no foreigners were allowed to enter the country, no Aussies were allowed to leave the country except for special cases….Australia just opened the border on 15 Dec.

Okay true..but based on 10K cases per day, deaths should exceed 15 per day already...Recall when SG had 3-5K daily cases, SG deaths were >10 per day...

The infection rate was pretty low before it opens up border and the population density is very low there as most people live in houses rather than apartments. They dunt talk to neighbours and dunt share lifts in shopping malls as most of the malls only have 1-2 storeys.

Number of cases just shot up these few days.

Deaths will follow later.

Agree the density factor should impact the daily case numbers. But only point is the number of deaths as percentage of case loads. This seems much lower than SG.

A lot of Aussies returned from Britain after being away for 1-2 years and a lot of Brits visiting Australia for Xmas holiday.

This Israeli guy enjoys schadenfreude. Made fun of Singapore previously and many Australians laughed along. Now he is using the same joke on Australia.
