The Benefits HR and Accounts Payable in OCBC and BOS should be fired for not checking the claims and allowing the reimbursements.

Why did it take the Bank of S'pore so long to investigate the misuse of medical benefits by hundreds of their staff who claimed for ineligible items, but only 40 were fired?  It is not difficult to include toothpaste and brushes into the price of scaling and polishing or to add in the price of rheumatoid arthritis patches for a parent when consulting the company dentist or GP for influenza respectively for example. My company is so strict that it rejected a claim for physiotherapy treatment even though the referral came from a polyclinic.

A Barisan Nasional politician Tan Sri Noh Omar claims that stealing is only a crime when a person is caught red-handed. He gave that analogy when he was trying to demand equal and fair treatment for all politicians entering schools. No wonder corruption is seen as a right of Ministers when they are in power in Malaysia.

Drs Thompson & Thomson was never on BOS' list of panel GP clinics. However, employees are able to still make claims from clinics not on the bank's panel.  These non-panel clinics are more likely to assist patients to make fraudulent claims for non-medical related items from their employers.

I have heard of this ruse for many years already. Most employees' attitude is to try to claim and at most get.rejected. The clinic must be willing to partake in the scheme in the first place, so it's equally guilty.

Private clinics know how to issue itemised bills that include the price of products (medicated plasters, aesthetic creams, lotions) not related to the purpose of the consultation (flu for example) that is being claimed.
