Scammers are now taking advantage of news about the release of GST vouchers to target vulnerable individuals. Here’s how this scam works: Victims would receive official-looking messages on WhatsApp or Facebook requesting them to download and integrate *“the latest GST voucher mobile app” with their bank accounts.* The victims would then be directed to a webpage disguised like the app store asking you to download an app file labelled as a *GST voucher app* to “help” victims redeem their vouchers. The file is actually malware allowing the scammers to access and take control of the victim’s device remotely, making it easier for them to steal passwords and sensitive information.

Remember: You *do not need to download any mobile app to receive your GST benefits.* These are automatically given to those eligible!
