Understand the US's present inflation is caused by the rise in energy and food costs.  Don't think US imports any energy from China.   If there is any tariff on food,  most likely they will be on those non-essential ones.  Don't think they are so stupid to impose a tariff on essential food items like vegetables and other daily needs.     Christmas shopping might be affected but don't think this has much to do with energy and food that have caused the inflation;  at least,  it was never mentioned so by Investopedia.
