Usually, employers will find excuses to remove these kind of people when they are about 6 months' pregnant when they can't hide their stomach. Seen it happened in my previous companies and heard from relatives and friends. If these companies remove them at a later date, the pregnant employees can lodge a complaint to the MOM.

Early removal of these kind of employees also save the companies from paying them salaries when they are on maternity leave. Hope she can make a comeback as the child grow older and she can find someone to help look after the child.
