When the bipartisan US Senators and Representatives visited Taiwan in mid-April, Lindsey Graham, the top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, emphasized the importance of Taiwan-US alliances. 

According to media reports, Graham had called on Taiwan to purchase 24 Boeing 787s , but China Airlines did not want to pay for the purchase of 8 billion US dollars (about 235 billion Taiwan dollars).
