The SD drive is not workable and is likely got to do with the computer manufacturer's chipset driver. It cannot be so many sets of similar models all not workable. Another higher-end one can read and format the SD card.

Don’t expect cheap gadget can support high storage SD card provided you know how to source for 3rd party firmware.
Don’t use big storage SD card on low end gadget, normally the SD card is not supported.
Check manufacturer spec before purchasing the gadget.
