Before you attack her, what she said us to some extent true. If money "belongs" to you, you ought to be able to do what you wish with it. CPF whether you like the scheme of not imposes and forces the money to be used for govt initiatives ..hence it does not fully belong to you.

We are not here to debate whether various schemes are good or bad just that they are compulsory and forces you to use the money to supoort govt initiatives...so it does not fully belong to you to use as you wish:

1. Forced to use on various. Insurance schemss like Careshield, Medishield etc.

2. Forced to enroll in annuities aka CPF life and contribute your own money to a pool.

3. Forced into a fixed deposit like account that loses flexibility of use CPF SA.

Hence it does not belong fully to you as the money is forced into various scheme that you may not want and you can't choose not to.

4. Force to take out your retirement money at certain age
5. Force to stay in class C bed if you have long issue of sickness.
6. Force to surrender your money if passed away if no children ?
