I think it should since China is the only country outside of the US to have a Gigafactory since 2020.... Elon had been impressed with the Chinese productivity an speed that he promoted the country chief Tom Zhu to be his 2IC to lead sales in EU and US.
I now can see why Elon don't like Biden... Big Grin

I really don't understand such myopic thinking of some AMTK...given the fact China has been the factory of the World for many years...The more they fear China, the more they are unprepared for fast coming future...and present.

That is exactly what some said about Apple inc with their 120% markup for each MIC iPhone sold.

If Steve Job hadn't decided to make iPhone in China since 2008/9, could Apple reach US$1Trillion valuation ?

At the same time Japan's vehicle exports stood at 954,185, after edging up 6% compared to a year earlier.

bro  Napoleon Porlumpar , the Germans and Jap learn very quickly not to be "so naive" when they see their market % kenna destroyed by Made-in-China vehicles within the last 2 years.. And those figures are from Toyota and VW own sales dept report

It should be EV only.

Automation reduce need of manpower and too many into construction & property line.
To change line after middle age is difficult for most people, no matter where you are

AngMoh Nations are very fearful of China now....Germany and Italy are few of those EU members rejecting upping tariff on imported Made-in-China EV... Big Grin

Firstly, prices for Chinese EVs are likely to rise sharply. This isn’t just a minor bump; we’re talking about price increases that could make these vehicles much less attractive options. And it’s not just Chinese brands that will feel the impact. Many non-Chinese brands, like Tesla and Mercedes, which manufacture cars in China, will also face these tariffs.

Ultimately, while the EU’s decision aims to protect local industries and address security concerns, it could lead to higher prices and less innovation, hitting consumers hard.
