The official figure claimed that China's economy grew 4.7%.  According to Trading Economics,  China's GDP grew only 0.7% QoQ as shown in the following chart



they got the figure of 4.7% by adding the QoQ of 3Q2023 to 2Q2024 i.e.  1.5+1+1.5+0.7=4.7.  It is just playing around with figures to make it look good.  Actually,  the net growth increase is only 0.7-0.5 or 0.2% for 2Q 2024.
