Not true - Rare earth metal/minerals is not the "only trump" card - it has digital RMB, dual-circulating economy, BRI, SCO, RCEP, BRICS influences can easily replace USD-centric SWIFT system if forced to.
And don't forget the trillion $US bonds as creditor the Chinese are to the American Mega Debt...

Actually they are not smart.
Since WW2, USA actually imported a lot of talents from across the world and those "American" researchers in leading tech, many are either foreigners or children of migrants.

China is the only nation that has the tech to refine ALL 17 rare earth minerals.
It would take the US at least a decade if not more to even process one of these minerals.
If the US wants to go to war with China, all China needs to do is turn off the tap and the US will run out of missiles in a month or so.
