Trade Minister Don Farrell will join counterparts for high-level talks on “Trump-proofing” a US-led economic and trade agreement for the Indo-Pacific to ensure it survives should Joe Biden lose November’s presidential election.

The 14 member nations of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) will on Thursday in Singapore sign a new “overarching agreement” that they continue to hold meetings, amid fears the arch-protectionist Donald Trump will withdraw America from the framework.
