China's spacecraft successfully landed on the far side of the Moon to collect samples

However, Washington has warned that China's space program is being used to cover military objectives and attempts to establish dominance in space.

A study published earlier by the University of Hong Kong pointed out that the geological samples in the area where Chang'e-6 landed are rich in scientific value and will hopefully answer key questions about the evolution of the moon and may even redefine humanity's understanding of the moon.

China's  Chang’e-6 touched down within a giant crater called South Pole-Aitken (SPA) basin this morning 6:23 am (Beijing, SG Time)
Congrats to the lander mission team!

The Chinese choose this area to land  because it is nearest to south pole in South Pole–Aitken (SPA) basin created by a giant ancient impact...

Ironically, CE6 has landed in a crater named Apollo Crater within the 2,500km wide basic. Big Grin

CCTV broadcasted recorded CE6 (Chang'e 6) landing video beamed from the "dark side" of the Moon via the Queqiao-2 relay satellite, which unlike Queqiao-1, has only 20 hours per day of direct LOS with the Earth....perhaps that partly explain "live-streaming" the landing is near impossible.

Unlike NASA China’s success rate in space exploration is 100%, which is incredible, heard Chang’er 6 also carries scientific experiment equipments from France and other countries

The Chinese spacecraft realised that India already made their mark on the moon

Scientific devices from 3 European countries piggyback on CE6 to get to far-side of the Moon..

One have to ask why the French, Italian & Swedish (all NATO members) didn't ask NASA to help.... Big Grin

I think it's great there is collaboration with other countries to make this project even more meaningful as space exploration is meant to be a shared endeavour.

Surprised that none of the pukimak anti china IBs even comment that all this is staged in some movie studio like the 1969 Apollo moon landing LOL!

This is China's 2nd time landing on the moon. Wonder why other countries are struggling to reach the moon before China this time.

I think China has mastered moon landing technology very well while other countries are trying their luck. Israel failed, India failed and Japan nearly failed.

Actually India, Japan and and a US private coy succeeded on their 1st 2nd, 3rd try in 2023...one landed nicely, another landed and topple over, while another landed upside down...
