U mean Apple to loseChina market?  Dun think it is something they could help.  Even if they continue to stay in China,  there is no guarantee tt they will not lose the China market and also the investment in the factories.

China wanted to stop APPLE and its suppliers like FOXCOMM moving out earlier by making things difficult but the recent tariff war must have APPLE made up its mind and determination. 145% tax is really too much to bear.

Many foreign companies in China making goods for direct export to the US will sure to follow the same foot step as APPLE unless the CHINA and the US can strike deals to de-escalate the tariff war quickly, the sooner the better.

The components will come from China, while assembly and labour done in India.

You don’t expect Foxconn to suddenly set up the entire supply chain in India. That is business suicide.

Also, exports to US makes up less than 3% of Chinese GDP. This won’t hurt China, whose industries are moving up the value ladder like AI, robotics, EVs, etc

The thousands who lost their jobs can easily find other jobs. Look at the China economy today. The EV, robotics, Solar, rare earths, weapons, drones, batteries, even agriculture.

China has been preparing for this since 2018 when Trump first told all US companies to decouple and de-risk from China.

The problem with Singapore media is, they have the western mentality that the whole world cannot afford to lose Western investment. That may be the case for Singapore, Korea and Japan, but definitely not for China.
