Though the yuan is no longer pegged against the dollar, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) carefully manages the currency’s value, allowing it to float within a narrow range or “band.” This exchange rate management regularly exposes China to charges of currency manipulation from critics, especially those from the United States.

The Yuan only perform not so bad only because it is under currency control. Citizens can only take 50K out..

Given China's housing problems and slowing economy if Yuan is floating freely it would be worse than Thai Baht in 1998!

USA, the EVIL EMPIRE!... crying

Fed officials stare down now markets, say inflation is top focus...🤣 U.S. Federal Reserve officials on Monday sloughed off rising volatility in global markets, from slumping U.S. stocks to currency turbulence abroad

In recent weeks,.🤣 Fed officials have been adamant that they will push rates as far as needed to cool inflation - even at the cost of rising unemployment and a possible recession.

BTW, Dr M also did currency control very strictly during Asia financial crisis. What's happened to ringgit?
