After the United States announced reciprocal tariffs in April, it also launched a national security investigation into semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, critical minerals, copper, aquatic products and energy in accordance with Section 232 of the U.S. Trade Expansion Act of 1962 to decide whether to impose tariffs.
