Singapore HealthCare system ranking in the world plummeted due to E&A shortages of patients beds 2023/2024

In addition to growing high numbers of unattended sick and elderly Singaporeans left to die alone at home.

Could be due partly contributed with the collapsed of both poorly ranked community age care services and HealthCare system.

Being the world's richest country, Singapore to be ranked No.14 Best HealthCare system is certainly, ridiculous.

What has really gone wrong?

Totally lacking public awareness on Age care services and Healthcare system causing spike in numbers of sick and elderly Singaporeans left to die alone for days even for weeks.

Where have all services gone?

ranking not much meaning when population goes old and hospital cost and specialist clinic get more and more expensive.

polyclinic or private clinic see old people most no want to treat scare got hurt by death.

even older citizen if kena hit by sickness that need operation. may not be done as perceive as too old to survive operations. maybe singapore need to develop or import micro robots that can do operations with minimum damage so that more old can be save and life prolong.

sure for rich old folks different story. dr will try all to the way to cream max max

Irrespective, these Singaporeans paid taxes and GST, and added contribution for male serving NS and including years of reservist will defend SG in time of war.

It's Singapore Govts responsibility but yet, all talk only, and no one cares while leaving them to die W/O anyone knowing for weeks.

Any ideas why HealthCare services never seem to keep records or follow up and checks the wellbeing of these sick elderly..

There should be someone held responsible in checkings and visiting them once or twice a month.

I saw 3 health care workers refused to register a wheelchair bound very elderly woman because of her unpaid bills at ktph, asking her to go home as she loiter around helplessly.

Practically forcing her to die at home alone. That's reality of life of the peasantry.

A lot of pent up anger at the ground level.

I think you should remove Canada from the list as its healthcare faces huge challenges right now as Canada imported 1.2 million new immigrants last year (4 times of the usual annual intake)  yet it doesn’t have sufficient doctors and beds for them, people have to wait 12-28 weeks to see a GP, housing shortage causes many full time workers sleep in the streets, that is much worse than Australia.

So, Singapore should be No.1..?

Spore may not be in the top 10 but definitely better than Canada, therefore this ranking is full of flaws, can be trusted…there are many new public hospitals and polyclinics opening in Spore, the number of hospitals in Spore is much more than that in Melbourne or Toronto by population ratio.

Singapore currently has 13 public hospitals and another 3 more are under construction. There are 23 polyclinics and another 4 more are under construction. And there are also many private hospitals. How many hospitals does Melbourne have? Both cities have similar populations you know.

MOH must put a total stop to sick and elderly Singaporeans left to die alone at home no more.

MOH target should be zero.

At least in Singapore you can visit your GP anytime including weekends without having to wait for 12-28 weeks like in Canada. If you are employed all your medical expenses can be reimbursed by your employer while nowadays you have to pay $50-100 per visit to see a GP in Australia. Furthermore annual dental checkup & polishing is all covered in many companies in Spore while it is expensive to see a dentist in Australia as dental is not covered under Medicare, you must pay out of your own pocket.
