the only part I understood and agreed .
He further stressed the importance of keeping Singapore as a "high trust society", where Singaporeans maintain solidarity and trust among one another.

“Because if we run empty on trust, all hope is lost", he said.

The Ridout saga destroyed trust, the DBS breakdowns destroyed trust.
Simply put, the PIGS in their ivory towers are used to their opulent Unequal lifestyles and salaries.
The only way will be to ask them to GO! Then the next generation can build a more Equal society and adopt new v values.
Action speaks louder than words. Millions in ministerial pay and ministers complaints on having a lesser lifestyle than billionaire CEOs ( see the Ridout palaces?). And Lawrence expects the next generation to buy what he says?!?!??
And the new EP expects us to believe he will deal with inequality and be uniteing when he probably ENDORSED the ridout palaces?!?!?

IMO, DPM Wong also gave the DBS CEO a tight slap. His reply hints Gupta don't fully understand how success should be measured - by suggesting the " (problem) today tend to have mindsets that are more status-conscious and hierarchical, and may view certain jobs or career pathways as more prestigious than others...."

A real world e.g. - material wealth of "S$1.5m condo" entitles you to....

Wong is wrong on his approach. Why ask the people to do a mindset shift when all the reward system from schools to workplace and even the govt top brass is but baset on material wealth as a mark of success?

What true change is not to have such manager mindset but to have a leader mindset. Take lead by changing the govt renumeration system away from wealth based. Change the selection or entry criteria for MPs, Presidential candidate etc. If you don't take the lead on top with real action, whatever said is just lips service.

Sorry for my blunt and frank opinion.

if one is a better idea, why not you start by rejecting material wealth as a mark of success?

Indeed wise, since incoming PM advocates a paradigm shift on how success should be, the whites should lead by example instead of asking the ground to take the lead. Else why have leaders? Lol

This thread about Success from LW also applies to the useless Malaysian Traitor again

He built his EGO on his CPF

Gupta asked the right question  on HOW and not WHAT

But the Foreigner has no Ethical nor Moral values even with his 66 Books of the Bible

to  be able to understand
