DPM Heng: Singapore could review KOM corruption case with New Evidence.
#1

"Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said that Singapore could review a decision not to prosecute key figures at Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. over a major bribery case involving payments to Brazil’s state-run energy company if there’s new evidence that warrants doing so.

The city-state on Monday defended a decision not to press charges against six former senior managers of Keppel O&M for their alleged involvement in a bribery scandal that cost the company $422 million in total fines.

“But if new evidence comes to light, this decision can be reviewed,” Heng posted to Facebook Tuesday. “Corruption has no place in our society and our economy. This has not and will not change.”

“Trust in our rule of law and transparency has enabled Singapore to thrive as a vibrant economy,” he continued"

So why is the current narrative "we cannot compel foreign witnesses to come to SG to provide evidence so as to charge the KOM people with corruption"?

Clearly the evidence already exists. Otherwise why KOM had to pay so many millions to US Department of Justice as ransom to settle case? Why their lawyer is recorded on the record in court apologising for corruption wrongdoings?

Then now still can come and try to flip prata by saying "if new evidence comes to light". "New evidence existing ONLY IN SG", you forgot to say that HSK. Literally making this a criteria that will never be fulfilled because all the dirty shit was done in Brazil.

Maybe because of his ill health which has shortened his political runway to the point that he can no longer be PM, he wants to die with a clean conscience.

Extremely unfair to shareholders to pay the 400+mil fine yet the top brass employees get to go free... Even if there's no charge, there should be crawl back on their thick paychecks!

This case has already be judge in US and Brazil with ample evidence.

What new evidence is needed?

New evidence "ONLY IN SINGAPORE" lah.

That's the key missing term. Let's not kid ourselves, if SG gov and CPIB really want to prosecute the KOM Six, you think they can't reach out to US Department of Justice and FBI and ask them to share their case notes meh? You think US will protect the KOM Six meh?

Or The Economist to warn business community of Singapore reviewing kOM corruption?

It's important for Singapore
