Danish military says it’s monitoring Chinese ship closely
#1

The Danish Navy is currently closely monitoring the vessel, and our data confirm that a Danish pilot boarded the ship on November 19th at 07.53 UTC.

As of November 20, 2024, neither the vessel nor these entities appear on published sanction lists. However, historical trade data shows the ship has transported Russian thermal #coal and coal from Murmansk and Nakhodka on at least seven occasions.

Swedish police later told news agency TT they were also interested in the Yi Peng 3, adding there might be other vessels of interest to Sweden's investigation.

Politicians from affected countries suspect sabotage. What is behind it?

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius suspected sabotage on Tuesday, although there is currently no definitive evidence of this.

Official investigations into suspected sabotage have been launched in both Finland and Sweden . Such damage would not happen in these waters "without external influence," said a spokesman for Cinia.

The suspicion of sabotage against critical infrastructure of NATO states coincides at least in time with the recent approval by the USA for the Ukrainian military to use ATACMS short-range ballistic missiles against Russian targets.
