Germany and France actually refused to sanction Russian's oil and gas because it is sanctioning themselves if they go ahead.

US has oil and if EU also sanction Russian's oil and gas, US oil can even go higher and makes more from Europe.

Who would be so stupid to sanction themselves?

US, don't laugh too fast.
Your inflation is unbearing.
Soon the demonstrations will spill over as well.
Your stupid sanctions killing each other.
Modi and Xi the wiser ones.

It is a clear US national interest is not only different but can be opposite to EU.

Sanction is good profit for US as oil and gas price shot to the sky. EU is in deep cold nights having to pay dearly for the gas for heating. Not every family can afford the money to pay. Soon Europeans will come out to demonstrate and protests for the high inflation.

US is suffering from high inflation due to high energy costs. If inflation is more than 10%, interest rates are to rise fast to cope with huge inflation.
