5% capital gains and 3% dividends total return of 8% a year.

Okay some will say ringgit fell so may not gain much.
Ringgit fell 26% during the sane period. Roughly 1.6% per year

Net return is 6.4% per year.

Malaysia move from low income to middle income in 2000s.
Malaysia is stuck in middle income trap for 2 decades unable to make it to high income.

But such countries have inherent advantages for investors. The cost structures are far more favorable to generate profits.

The richesh man in Asia if from India. And the listed companies on Sensex have the highest profitability in Asia.

While there is prejudice and pre conceived notions around investing in countries that seem to be backward and "poor", that is where you can find good companies with long growth runways and high profitability.

I have no bias as an investor  wherever is best placed to invest I will do so.

Because Malaysia s not my home country does not mean I become prejudice against it ...that is wrong.

I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
