The CEO of the Future Investment Initiative (FII), the organiser of the "Davos of the Desert" Saudi investment conference said on Monday that US government officials will not be invited to attend the event at the end of this month. The reason, added Richard Attias, is so that the event does not turn into a "political platform".

......

up to 400 CEOs of US companies are expected to participate in this year's programme. The three-day conference scheduled to begin on 25 October in Riyadh, usually attracts Wall Street giants and high-ranking officials from around the world.

Basically US gov just got dis-invited by the Saudis to a very important business leader conference in the Kingdom...

Other than kicking out the American officials, other US private business leaders like president of Boeing, CEO from Goldman Sach, JPMorgan, HKSE and Xiaomi co-founder will be attending the 3 days event.

Hundreds of CEOs and finance moguls are expected in Riyadh from Tuesday for a Davos-style investment conference that analysts say will highlight Saudi Arabia's geopolitical muscle despite strained ties with the US.....

..FII Institute CEO Richard Attias stressed that FII was not a conference about Saudi Arabia, but rather "an international conference happening in Saudi Arabia, showing that Riyadh and the kingdom is definitely becoming a global hub".

Participants include business leaders from Latin American countries that in past years have had no representation, as well as "a huge delegation from China" with more than 80 Chinese CEOs, Attias said.
