Malaysia’s former finance minister Daim Zainuddin was charged on Jan 29 with allegedly failing to declare his assets, amid concerns that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is using graft crackdowns selectively against his political foes.

Prosecutors allege that Daim failed to declare ownership in 38 companies; 25 plots of land and properties in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Kedah; seven luxury vehicles and two investment fund accounts under the country’s anti-graft laws.

The 85-year-old pleaded not guilty in a Kuala Lumpur court.

Dr M denied allegations that he offered funding to Pas to accept his son, Datuk Seri Mukhriz, as a candidate in the upcoming state election under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) banner.

Dr Mahathir dismissed the claims as baseless, stating he is not wealthy enough to fund any political party?.

Dr M is warded in IJN; defamation trial against Zahid postponed for second time [Updated]

LUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr M.Mohamad's (the Fox) defamation trial against Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has been postponed a second time as he is not allowed to leave the National Heart Institute (IJN), where he is admitted for health issues. The 99-year-old's lawyer, Mior Nor Haidir Suhaimi, told High Court Judicial Commissioner Gan Techiong that the former Bersatu chairman is not allowed by cardiologists to leave the hospital.

Mior Nor Haidir applied for today's trial to be vacated. He said Dr M had returned from London on July 14 (the Fox) was hospitalised in IJN the next day after experiencing breathing difficulties.
Mior Nor Haidir said he received confirmation from cardiologists on evening of July 16 that Dr M is not allowed to leave hospital. In a letter sent to the court, it was stated that Dr M had gone overseas recently.

Today was set for first day of the trial after the initial Feb 13 proceedings was postponed as Dr M (the Fox) was unwell was given a medical certificate from IJN. Zahid's lawyer Mohamed Shahrul Fazli Kamarulzaman said they sympathised w/Dr M & hoped his speedy recovery.

"The defence is ready for trial. I want to confirm if Dr M is unwell, will Mukhriz (Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir) be called to testify so that we can start on the second witness," he said. Gan said no one doubted the authenticity of the letter issued by IJN, given Dr Mahathir's age & health condition.

He said trial needs to proceed b'cos it was a 2022 matter & he is trying to clear all outstanding cases in his court by year end. "I hope Dr M (the Fox) will recover quickly & will be well enough to attend the next court proceedings on Aug 26 and 27.

"We did it (postponement) on Feb 13 and now, we have to adjourn again today. "If, for any reason, Dr Fox M is unfit to attend on Aug 26, then the 2nd witness as proposed as by defendant, Mukhriz, should be ready so we can get the trial started by having the second witness. It is a fair proposal.
"Ideally, Dr Fox M, as the plaintiff, should be the first witness. But since there is a second witness and given the two adjournments, I want this to commence on Aug 26," said Gan. Gan then has a vacated trial to Aug 26, 27; & Oct 29 and 30.

However, he was too afraid to follow through, knowing that most Malays lacked the intellect or drive for hard work.

Malaysia never an ‘Asian Tiger’, but a ‘monkey’, says Ku LiM (Malaysia Boleh lehh).

(TMI) – MALAYSIA had never enjoyed status of being an “Asian Tiger” economy, instead it was more of “a monkey”, said former finance minister Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.

Tengku Razaleigh, better known as Ku Li, dismissed the label which was claimed by many, including former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad the Old FOX.

Ku Li said Malaysia could not claim to being an Asian Tiger as the country had financed most of its projects, including dams and highways, because foreign investors had skirted around Malaysia. “You call yourself an Asian Tiger, but you’re actually a monkey. You’re not developed,” he was quoted as telling Free Malaysia Today.
“But we were never an Asian Tiger. It’s only illusory,” he added.

Abdullah Badawi only tried to shake the Malays out of their over reliance on govt handouts which were making them lazy. He only spoke the truth that Malays relied on crutches for so long that they would soon need wheelchairs. Nowadays, many of them are being carried around on stretchers.

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak & his son Datuk Nazifuddin failed to stall bankruptcy proceeding initiated by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) to recoup RM1.7 billion in unpaid tax from the duo. This is after High Court here rejected father & son's application (for postponement) today. Lawyer Muhammad Farhan Shafee, who appeared for duo, said they requested a postponement b'cos they had filed an appeal for a tax reassessment with the Special Commissioners of Income Tax.

Mahathir also spoke the truth that without preferential treatment by the govt, Malays would end up as drivers, servants, cooks, labourers, factory workers, cleaners etc. simply because they are unable to compete with the other races on a level-playing field.
