Envoy: China’s President Xi to host dinner for PM Anwar at Beijing’s Great Hall of People during working visit.

SHANGHAI, Nov 4 — PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will receive great honour since Chinese President Xi Jinping has agreed to host a dinner for him at Great Hall of People in Beijing on Nov 7. Anwar is expected to arrive in Shanghai tonight, his first stop before going to Beijing, to begin a four-day working visit to China.

“This is a working visit for the prime minister. He will meet Xi who is head of state whereas our prime minister is head of govt. To be the head of state & to ‘host’ head of govt is indeed an honour,” he explained.

He said that China is ready to work with Malaysia to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, uphold mutual respect and mutual trust, treat each other as equals and cooperate for win-win results, working together to achieve common development and prosperity of the two countries.

He called on the two sides to steadily advance flagship projects such as the East Coast Rail Link and the Malaysia-China "Two Countries, Twin Parks," tap into the cooperation potential in emerging areas, and constantly expand new space for cooperation.

China will continue to promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning with Malaysia, strengthen cooperation on education and visa facilitation, and encourage the two peoples, especially the youth, to visit each other more often to enhance mutual understanding and friendship, he said.

Zheng He (also romanized Cheng Ho; 1371–1433/1435) was a Chinese admiral, explorer, diplomat, and bureaucrat during early Ming dynasty (1368–1644). He is often regarded as greatest admiral in Chinese history. Born into a Muslim family as Ma He, he later adopted the surname Zheng conferred onto him by Yongle Emperor (in 1402–1424). Between 1405 and 1433, Zheng commanded 7 treasure voyages across Asia under the commission of the Yongle Emperor & the succeeding Xuande Emperor (in 1425–1435). According to legend, Zheng's largest ships were almost twice as long as any wooden ship ever recorded & carried hundreds of sailors on four decks... Smile

Anwar noted that China is Malaysia's good friend and good partner. Malaysia is willing to deepen Belt and Road cooperation with China, promote cooperation in such areas as trade, investment, digital economy and education, and enhance people-to-people exchanges, he added.

Malaysia supports China in joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, said Anwar.

He noted that as the rotating presidency of ASEAN next year, Malaysia will take this opportunity to enhance coordination with China on international and regional issues

Johor seaside view draws crowd, causing inconvenience to residents

JOHOR BAHRU – A viral video on TikTok, which likened Johor’s Stulang Laut to Thailand’s Koh Samui, has irked residents as outsiders are parking their vehicles along a narrow road to take photos and videos of the seaside view.

Among the local residents is secondary school student Muhammad Farhad Ali Khan, 16, who said that since the video went viral on social media, there have been many people parking their vehicles along Jalan Perdana.

“Usually they will come during late evenings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday just to take photos of the view during sunset. On those days, there will be a long queue of cars and motorcycles waiting in line just to take photos.
