The only country I feel has truly implemented reforms is Mexico, and this is what we are doing now,” she said here tonight.

KUALA LUMPUR: The PKR Central Election Committee has thoroughly reviewed more than 280 complaints received during party's election process, covering nominations, campaigning, and division-level results. The committee chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, reiterated the committee rejects incumbent PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli's earlier claim concerning handling of complaints in the party's election process. "As I have said b4, we received more than 280 complaints across various levels - nominations, campaigning, and divisional results  have been reviewing each of them individually," she said. "So, I deny claims  are ignoring complaints.

We are indeed addressing them, and action has already been taken on some," she told reporters after officiating the National Youth Day celebration for the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur-level here on Saturday (May 17).

Rodziah Ismail, who is contesting the position of PKR Women’s chief, has expressed her readiness to debate the incumbent, Fadhlina Sidek. The Ampang MP, aligned with PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli, also extended an invitation to Nurul Izzah Anwar, who is vying for the number two post.

PKR Youth has asked the party’s incumbent deputy president Rafizi Ramli to reconsider his initial decision not to officiate the opening ceremony for the national congress of PKR’s youth and women’s wings on May 22. Confirming that PKR Youth had received a copy of Rafizi’s letter to Prime Minister and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim declining an invitation to officiate wings' congress, incumbent PKR Youth chief Adam Adli Abd Halim said.

PKR deputy secretary-general Dr Sathia Prakash Nadarajan has denied claims that party president Anwar Ibrahim is backing any faction or “call” in the upcoming party election set to take place from May 21 to 24.Sathia, who is also contesting a vice-president post, said the matter was resolved at a recent central leadership council meeting. I want to emphasise that there is no call in this. PKR needs to strengthen its machinery and woo the public with community programmes for young voters to gain their support in the 16th general election. Party vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said a study conducted showed that 68 percent of youth were not interested in politics, so the party must take on this challenge.
