MRT Corp has set up a subsidiary, Malaysia Rapid Transit System Sdn Bhd (MRTS), to be the developer and owner of the civil infrastructure for the Malaysian section of the Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link) Project Between Johor Bahru and Singapore. The company was incorporated on 5 December 2019.

The RTS Link Project is a railway shuttle link approximately 4km length with two stations, one in Bukit Chagar, Johor Bahru, Malaysia and one in Woodlands, Singapore.

The link will be a modern Light Rail Transit (LRT) system that will provide high volume, fast and efficient transportation system between the two stations.

The link will be integrated with public transport systems at both stations, providing an alternative means of transportation that will help alleviate the congestion at immigration checkpoints for both countries.

The link will have a capacity of 10,000 passengers per hour, per direction and an expected ridership of about 40,000 passengers per day upon opening.

Immigration, Custom and Quarantine (ICQ)

As an international link between Malaysia and Singapore, the RTS Link Project includes the building of a new Immigration, Customs and Quarantine (ICQ) facility next to the station at Bukit Chagar. Similarly, the RTS Link Station in Woodlands North in Singapore will also have Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities.

What is unique is that the Malaysian ICQ and Singaporean CIQ facilities will be co-located within the same building. This will allow the entire immigration process of leaving and entering both countries to be completed at the departing station.

Upon arrival, passenger will just leave the station without needing to go through border crossing formalities again.

From Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR): Communications director Adam Adli Abd Halim said the govt’s action to respect right to assemble was not a sign of admin weakness, but it reflected true strength of M'sia’s maturing democracy. 
He added PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had also expressed his appreciation to security forces for their crucial role in ensuring peaceful gathering proceeded smoothly. “Their presence without the use of tear gas, batons or riot shields is a reflection of M"sian maturity of our part of institutions by elevating security personnel as an important component in country’s democratic ecosystem. “The MADANI aspiration not only guarantees civil rights, also the people’s right to a dignified life,” said Adam Adli, also the Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, in a statement today. He said today govt does not view such a gathering as a threat but a symbol of changing political culture that embraces differing viewpoints. “In a democracy, both supporting & also opposing voices are important & deserve to be safeguarded. The govt has proven its capability to protect democratic space,” he said.

An AirAsia flight heading to Shenzhen, China had to make an emergency turnback to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA) after one of its two engines caught fire last night. According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, the Airbus A320-216 aircraft carrying 171 passengers and crew departed for Shenzhen at 9.59pm before it sustained a "pneumatic ducting burst".

The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 led to a multinational search effort in Southeast Asia & the southern Indian Ocean that became the most expensive search in aviation history. 
Despite delays, the search of the priority search area was to be completed around May 2015. On 29 July 2015, a piece of marine debris, later confirmed to be a flaperon from Flight 370, was found on Réunion Island.

On 20 December 2016, it was announced that an unsearched area of around 25,000 square kilometres (9,700 sq mi), and approximately centred on location 34°S 93°E, was the most likely impact location for flight MH370. The search was suspended on 17 January 2017. In October 2017, final drift study believed the most likely impact location to be at around 35.6°S 92.8°E. Search based on  coordinates resumed January 2018 by Ocean Infinity, a private company, it ended in June 2018 without success.

Ships and aircraft from Malaysia, China, India, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, and even United States were involved in the search of the southern Indian Ocean. In June 2024, Ocean Infinity submitted a plan to the Malaysian government to continue the search over 15,000 square kilometres (5,800 sq mi) off the coast of Western Australia, with the cabinet approving the plan in principle under a $70 million 'no find, no fee' arrangement in December 2024. Final approval was granted in March 2025 and Ocean Infinity began their search. In April 2025, search was once again suspended, with Ocean Infinity planning to resume searching at the end of 2025....

The search for Flight 370 is the most expensive search operation in aviation history. In June 2014 Time estimated that the total search effort to that point had cost approximately US$70 million. Malaysia's Ministry of Transport revealed that it had spent RM 280.5 million (US$70 million) on search through February 2016. The tender for the underwater search was AU$52 million (US$43 million or €35 million)—shared by Australia & M'sia—for 12 months.


On 17 January 2017, the official search for Flight 370 was suspended after yielding no evidence of the aircraft apart from some marine debris on the coast of Africa. Reported costs of the search varied between US$135–160 million. In February 2017, Malaysia's Transport Minister stated the cost as RM 500 million (US$112.47 million).

In March 2019, in the wake of the 5th anniversary of the disappearance, the Malaysian govt stated it was willing to look at any "credible leads or specific proposals" regarding a new search. Ocean Infinity stated they are ready to resume search on the same no-find no-fee basis, believing they would benefit from experience they gained from their search for wreck of Argentinian submarine ARA San Juan & bulk carrier ship Stellar Daisy, with most probable location still being somewhere along 7th arc around area identified previously, the one on which their 2018 search was based. In March 2022, Ocean Infinity committed to resuming its search in 2023 or 2024, pending approval by the M'sian govt, with two new robotic ships to replace Seabed Constructor.

On 8 March 2023, ninth anniversary of the disappearance of flight MH370, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke vowed not to "close book" on MH370, adding that due consideration would be given to future searches if there was "new and credible information" on aircraft's potential location. In March 2024, days before tenth anniversary of the disappearance, M'sia said it consult with Australia to collaborating on another expedition by Ocean Infinity team. March 2024, University of Liverpool highlighted researchers have embarked on studies, impact of aircraft on Weak Signal Radio Communication (WSPR). Some investigators have explored use of WSPR statistical data to estimate the final flight path of MH370 along 7th arc...

On 25 February 2025, Loke announced the start of a new search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, to be conducted by Ocean Infinity. 

The mission was planned to cover an area of 15,000 km2 (5,800 sq mi) in the southern Indian Ocean, to be searched over 18 months. The search would be conducted under a "no find, no fee" agreement with the M'sian govt, which had pledged a $70 million reward for the discovery of the wreckage. On 3 April 2025, then Loke stated that Ocean Infinity had suspended its search, giving the reason that its "not the season". Ocean Infinity plans to resume the search at the end of 2025?, again.

Analysis of hydroacoustic data

A source of evidence to assist locating final resting place of aircraft is analysis of underwater sound recordings. 

If aircraft hit the ocean hard enough, hydroacoustic recordings could have potentially recorded an impact event. Furthermore, aircraft's flight data on MH 370 recorders were fitted w/underwater "pingers", which emit a detectable, pulsating acoustic signal that have potentially led searchers to their locations. The search for Flight 370 is the most expensive search operation in aviation history. In June 2014 Time estimated that the total search effort to that point had cost approximately US$70 million. Malaysia's Ministry of Transport revealed that it had spent RM 280.5 million (US$70 million) on search through February 2016. The tender for the underwater search was AU$52 million (US$43 million or €35 million)—shared by Australia & M'sia—for 12 months.


On 17 January 2017, the official search for Flight 370 was suspended after yielding no evidence of the aircraft apart from some marine debris on the coast of Africa. Reported costs of the search varied between US$135–160 million. In February 2017, Malaysia's Transport Minister stated the cost as RM 500 million (US$112.47 million).

MRT Corp has set up a subsidiary, Malaysia Rapid Transit System Sdn Bhd (MRTS), to be the developer and owner of the civil infrastructure for the Malaysian section of the Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link) Project Between Johor Bahru and Singapore. The company was incorporated on 5 December 2019.

The RTS Link Project is a railway shuttle link approximately 4km length with two stations, one in Bukit Chagar, Johor Bahru, Malaysia and one in Woodlands, Singapore.

The link will be a modern Light Rail Transit (LRT) system that will provide high volume, fast and efficient transportation system between the two stations.

The link will be integrated with public transport systems at both stations, providing an alternative means of transportation that will help alleviate the congestion at immigration checkpoints for both countries.

The link will have a capacity of 10,000 passengers per hour, per direction and an expected ridership of about 40,000 passengers per day upon opening.

Immigration, Custom and Quarantine (ICQ)

As an international link between Malaysia and Singapore, the RTS Link Project includes the building of a new Immigration, Customs and Quarantine (ICQ) facility next to the station at Bukit Chagar. Similarly, the RTS Link Station in Woodlands North in Singapore will also have Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities.

What is unique is that the Malaysian ICQ and Singaporean CIQ facilities will be co-located within the same building. This will allow the entire immigration process of leaving and entering both countries to be completed at the departing station.

Upon arrival, passenger will just leave the station without needing to go through border crossing formalities again.

SHAH ALAM July 16 ― Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told PKR delegates today to choose a new leader if they were so unhappy that he kept failing at becoming Malaysia’s prime minister. The PKR president said he could have become PM long ago if he were willing to conform, like Dr M & or cut a deal with people he alleged to be corrupt. He claimed to have received statutory declarations (SDs) of support from Umno lawmakers if he agreed to help get criminal & corruption charges dropped against their leaders Datuk Seri Najib Razak & Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi last year, when the govt ousted elected Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration faced a confidence crisis, but refused to kow-tow to their demands. "I did not say OK, I did not apologise. I said we will fight & face the upcoming general election.

"People kept saying that I failed and failed [to be PM]. If you want me to succeed by sucking up to those who are corrupt, find a new president,” he told the over 2,600 PKR delegates on 2nd day of party’s 3-day national congress here in JB. The Port Dickson MP claimed that he & their PH allies had rejected 15 Umno SDs, adding that two of them were from Najib and Zahid. He further claimed to have received support of 118 MPs back then as well, which would make him the Dewan Rakyat elected representative with most votes out of 222; but he said the matter ended there. In his policy speech, Anwar told PKR delegates to set aside their discontent with results of their recent party elections, those who continued to harp on it'll not receive the watikah, the highly-prized appointment letter that he as the party president has to sign, to be considered a candidate for the 15th general election due September 2023. "I will not forgive those branches  divisions, PKR youth or women’s wing & who choose to continue fighting after the party election. "If keep happening, you can be sure there will be no or won't be any watikah for you,” he said very seriously as a final warning.

Agreement reached:  Cambodian PM Hun Manet & acting Thai PMi Phumtham on Monday agreed to an “immediate & unconditional ceasefire."

Best part here, announced two countries will establish a Cambodian-Thai: Both will "General Boundary Committee", will hold an initial meeting on August 4, hosted by Thai / Cambodia in KL.
