To increase protection against covid-19, since the end of February, Ecuador began to apply CoronaVac — a vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac — to children over three years of age. In Brazil, the immunizer against covid-19 is produced by the Butantan Institute and can be applied to children over 6.

According to the Ecuadorian Ministry of Health, children aged 3 to 4 years should receive two doses of CoronaVac, with an interval of 28 to 42 days. In people over 5 years old, the country has already applied the vaccine against covid-19 since October last year.
