If it is not transparent, then possibly be just sheer blindness.

Senior Counsel looks to have been fixed. His article no longer available on Singapore Law Watch's website, meaning to say government pressure behind the scenes has succeeded in taking it down because it went against their established narrative.
This is why if any Singaporean wants to write anything critical about Singapore, best to do it for a foreign publication. Even then still not safe, because with the FICA law if the PAP government wants to fix any critic who wrote something critical about SG in a foreign publication they can investigate them for coming under foreign influence; even being paid for writing such critical articles can be framed as "foreign interference". So really the only way to do it as a SG citizen is to write and publish in a foreign publication, AND not be physically in Singapore.
