Everything wants to be No.1 but not No.1 choice as next Prime Minister.
Why?

Why using next GE 2025 as a gauge for transition?
An excuse to delay further.

A better scenario is for PM Lee to step down now to provide extra time to help Lawrence getting ready for the challenge.
An extra one year period means nothing to PM Lee but means a lot to his successor.

He is buying his time that something drastic will happen so that he can continue for another GE.
Not suprised if a major disease struck or he may ask Malaisai to cut off the water supply or have major demonstrations just across the Causeway over some silly disagreement. Then he can continue
