It is unlikely to have a water bill jump five times the usual rates, there must be a typo error on the part of SP......

Actually, we should be like our western counterparts whereby they install a dishwasher in their kitchen. It is said to be water saving and allow to dry naturally less electricity will be used. Keep aside soiled plates, bowls until a lot to fill up the machine with just one simple wash bet the water bill will be lower. Same goes with the washing machine.
