Freegan movement in Singapore is spread.
However, when I watch the documentary ....the freegan said he managed to keep his pending at $500 !a month.i almost fell off my chair because I spend less.
Problem with freeganism is you need to take public transport to go to various places to collect the free food. The transport cost is more than buying thr raw food from nearby supermarket then cooking it at home. You make one trip at supermarket you can get all ingredients for 1 or 2 weeks. You cut down on transport cost associated with freemanism.
The other aspects of freeganism is to collect free stuff from carousell and various dumpsters. You do better by selling stuff you don't need and using what you need for longer periods.
I don't dispute that what they do is generally good strategy...but there is room for improvement.
